This past Monday Bonnie attended the Kenyon Martin Foundation at The Giving Back Fund in Dallas. Kenyon Martin, power forward for the Denver Nuggets, established the foundation to share the hard-earned lessons a difficult childhood taught him in the hopes of helping other youth realize their dreams.

The mission of the Foundation is two things.  First, to provide support, including parenting and career guidance to teenagers who become parents as well as assisting families without father figures.  In addition, the foundation gives life changing opportunities to underserved youth with an emphasis on helping youth realize their full potential.

Kenyon had a difficult childhood with a lack of parenting and positive role models.  Although his childhood was difficult, he was able to remove himself from his surroundings by doing what he loves, playing basketball. Kenyon hopes to give children the opportunity to do what they love as well.  His goal is to teach kids that no matter where you come from you can always succeed!
